Kenya School of Biblical Studies, Kisumu
The Kenya School of Biblical Studies, Kisumu is near
the shores of Lake Victoria. Kisumu is one of Kenya’s largest cities, serving as a commercial,
transportation, and cultural hub in western Kenya.
Kisumu has a population of approximately 422,000 people in its urban area as of 2025. The wider metropolitan region has over 1.15 million residents.
From Kampala, Uganda’s capital, the driving distance to Kisumu is about 311 km (193 miles). This
location allows the school to draw students from throughout Kenya, as well as from Uganda and
other East African countries.
The campus of the Kenya School of Biblical Studies, Kisumu has one large building with enough rooms for a classroom space, eating area, and dorm rooms. The kitchen provides the daily meals for the students. The classroom offers adequate learning space for instruction.
Kenneth Wabwire, instructor, was born in 1975. He is from Busia County, Kenya. He is married and has seven children. He graduated from the East Africa School of Biblical Studies in Uganda in 2022. He has three years of preaching experience. He says he is very happy with how GSOBS helps train preachers worldwide.
Daniel Atolewa, instructor, was born in 1977 in Vihiga County, Kenya. He is a widower and has three children. He graduated in 2023 from the Kenya School of Biblical Studies, Nairobi. He has preached for one year and two months in Nairobi. He is committed to training and equipping preachers to deeply understand the Scriptures.
Dan Okanya,instructor, was born in 1990 in Namayingo in eastern Uganda. He is married and has two children. He graduated in 2018 at Butema, from the East Africa School of Biblical Studies. He has seven years of preaching experience. He says GSOBS has a very good curriculum that helps one become a strong preacher.
